Just who is Roo Tech Services?
My name is Shannon Jones, Founder and CEO of Roo Tech Services. Roo Tech Services is a full IT solutions provider working out of Knoxville, Tennessee offering a range of IT services locally through both onsite and remote support to small and medium businesses in Knoxville and surrounding areas and remotely to businesses nationwide. Roo Tech Services was founded in October 2018 and recently celebrated 5 years of providing excellent service to our clients. Shannon has over 20 years of experience working in IT in a variety of roles and positions and has managed IT for clients both large, with hundreds of users and endpoints, and small, with just a few users. Shannon is also a United States Marine Corps Veteran, so he understands attention to detail and prides himself on providing his clients with the highest standard of service.
So is that Roo as in Kangaroo?
If the picture on the left doesn't give it away, the answer to this is yes. When Shannon decided to form his own IT services company, he wanted to pick a name that had personal meaning for him, but also a name that stands out. He went back and forth on a few different names but finally settled on "Roo" (Kangaroo) because of the symbolism of the creature. Kangaroos are truly amazing animals that symbolize, strength, stamina and balance. They leap into the unknown and face it head on which is a necessity in the world of IT because everything is constantly changing. Through his research Shannon found an interesting fact about these amazing creatures, Kangaroos never move backward. Their large tails prevent them from doing so. They pivot and adjust but they only move forward and are great at adapting to their environment. This symbolism really spoke to Shannon and aligned with his knowledge and experience in the IT landscape. With a mind for IT and a pride in helping others Shannon decided to take that to the next level. And so, Roo Tech Services was born.
